******************** This Challenge has ended. See the  2017-2018 listening challenge page for our current studio-wide Activity challenge!****************************************

After being inspired by fellow Suzuki teachers and music teaching blogs, I am excited to begin our own studio wide 100 day practice challenge this fall.

Anyone may get an early start by beginning in the Summer, right now!

Awards and the special 100 day T-shirt will be announced and handed out at the Studio Group Recital in Winter, and then again at the Solo Recital in Spring 2017.

The Rules:

  1. Students must practice 100 days in a row.
  2. If a student misses a day, they go back to day one the next time they practice.
  3. If a students is too sick to practice, they may listen to their Suzuki CD 3x in one day in place of practicing.
  4. Lessons count as practice.
  5. Group lessons count as practice.
  6. Performing counts as practice.
  7. Playing your instrument in school ensembles counts as practice.
  8. Orchestra rehearsal counts as practice.
  9. Sight reading chamber music with your friends counts as practice.
  10. Chamber music lessons count as practice.
  11. Practice need not be for a specific length of time, this challenge is about building a habit!
  12. Students, with the help from their parents , will keep track of the days practiced and let me know where they are at lessons. You may use a 100x sheet from the studio. If a day is missed, please give me the old sheet and get a new one.
  13. Students able to practice 100 days (or more!) in a row will be invited to a Snow cone party and will receive a t-shirt and award at the next recital.
