Julia Seltzer is a trained Suzuki teacher and Creative Ability Development (CAD) instructor (having studied improvisation pedagogy under Alice Kanack). She holds a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from Florida State University’s College of Arts and Sciences. Julia is a member of the Gainesville Music Teachers Association and brings multiple decades of experience to her teaching and performing.

Julia has studied with many inspiring mentors, including Sonnhild Kitts and Dr. Pamela Ryan, as well as Suzuki Association of the Americas teacher trainers Edmund Sprunger, James Hutchins, Elizabeth Stuen-Walker, Daina Volodka Staggs, Linda Fiore, Allen Lieb, and Cathryn Lee.

As an active freelance musician, Julia has performed in numerous orchestras throughout Florida, collaborated in solo and chamber concerts for charity, and provided music for countless weddings with The Prestige String Quartet, Birken String Quartet, and various Strings For Things ensembles. She is also the fiddle lead in Scuttered the Bruce, a Florida-based Irish pub band.

Her orchestral experience includes performances with Natalie Merchant, Little River Band, The Ten Tenors, STYX (Dennis DeYoung), Celtic Thunder, Johnny Mathis, and The Alan Parsons Project.
