• How long are your lessons?

                Individually scheduled, private lessons are 30 to 60 minutes in length, once a week.

  • How much do lessons cost?

Lessons range from $135-$270 a month. This includes one private lesson a week and at least one group lesson a month.

  • Do you offer group lessons?

Yes, We have group lessons 1-2 times a month.

  • What age do you recommend starting violin/viola lessons?

I feel that about age 4 or 5 is the perfect time to begin formal music lessons.  If you want your child to get a head start on their music education I highly recommend the Music Together program as a firm base and precursor for private instruction for children under 4.

  • What is chamber music/coaching?

For the majority of musicians, the real joy of making music comes when we make music together in groups large or small. Chamber music groups  are small groups of musicians such as duets, trios, quartets, quintets, etc. I offer chamber coaching  to any interested students  in collaboration with other local violin, cello , and piano studios.

  • Is there an annual recital?

Yes. the annual recital is held at the end of the school year.

  • What basic supplies do I need for my beginner?

You will need, an instrument, bow, case, rosin, shoulder rest, music stand for home practice, Suzuki Book 1 for violin or viola (depending on instrument chosen),  I Can Read Music for instrument chosen,  a pencil and a 3 ring binder for lesson notes. *New students qualify for a free 30 minute introductory lesson to go over questions and the list of supplies needed*

  • Is___ age too old/young to start?

You are never too old, and rarely too young to start learning musical instrument. 🙂 I accept students of all ages and abilities into my studio.
