Scale, Ear Training, and ACYO Audition Prep Class

This class is on hold until Summer 2026

I will introduce you to the important aspects of basic ear training and interval identification. The group lessons will teach you how to better hear and adjust your intonation quickly on your ACYO scales. Practice your audition excerpts together, and get feedback on your audition materials in a group studio class setting.

All local string students welcome.

Free for Seltzer Music Studio students,

$10 per session for everyone else.

Groups held on the NW Side of Gainesville.

What You’ll Learn:

– how to identify, notate, and play intervals with a focus on intonation

-leading tones

-Group practice of ACYO excerpts

-Scales with rhythms, accelerations and various bowings to gain mastery and confidence

– Scale patterns and the importance of practicing with a drone

Julia Seltzer

I’m a Suzuki teacher and performer in the Gainesville and the North Florida area. I aim for my students to be uniquely musically curious and strive to keep practice fun and not frustrating. My passion is to explore music while constantly learning different techniques,and science backed learning and teaching styles.
